Beaujolais Wineries Celebrate Completion of 2011 Harvest

November 17, 2011 – New York, NY: For the 2011 harvest, Beaujolais was blessed with almost ideal weather conditions: abundant sunshine in the spring and consistently low rainfall during the summer, a French rarity. As a result, grapes were allowed to reach the peak of ripeness three weeks earlier than last year, putting 2011 among the earliest harvests the region has experienced in several decades. Roussillon Region Classifies 2011 A Stellar Vintage

Capitalizing on the great trend of Rosé on the wine market, the Institut National des Appellations d’Origine (I.N.A.O.) has recently approved the making and marketing of Rivesaltes Rosé, the new color of the Rivesaltes Vin Doux Naturel, from Roussillon. For the moment, the region will begin exporting this wine through two producers: Société Bardinet Valauria and Vignerons Catalans Rivesaltes Rosé by Croix Milhas, and will be followed by several private sellers and corps.
